A Lost Friend Empty
PostSubject: A Lost Friend   A Lost Friend EmptyTue Feb 19, 2013 4:46 pm

A lai of different shade of pink began to put useful items into her pack that she carried on her shoulders. She was planning on going on a bit of an adventure, looking for her long lost friend, Saica. She wondered if her friend was still alive. If so, is she ok? What has she become? The water lai couldn't help but think negatively for once but pushed the thoughts out of her mind. She had a gut feeling her dear friend Saica was still alive and prospering. She needed to be sure of it herself so she was willing to risk going out into nature. She had already lost her parents and didn't want to live with the fact that he best friend was gone, too.

Trisha placed her pack onto her shoulders and shook herself a tad to make sure it will stay in place. She looked out onto the horizon and watched the sun begin to rise. The light of the sun showed that the land of Elaisha was beginning to reach the season of fall. Saica's favorite time of the year as she was told. Would definitely be a perfect time to go find her. The pink lai took in a deep breath before heading out towards the direction the two friends first ever met. Maybe there would be a useful clue there.

Never in a million years would this red-panda coated Lai find herself thinking of her past. She had tried so hard to let them go, because she was with her savior Thorn now living in the snowy northern regions of Elashia. She sat at the mouth of her cave sitting there letting the icy wind nip at her mane and tense her dense muscles. The scent on the wind, she could tell fall was near. Fall, her favorite time, everything turning a golden orange matching her coat and the air wasn't quite yet cold nor was it hot. Just thinking about the leaves made her think of her childhood, flashing images went through her mind as she sat there sinking into her conscience . Two young Lai's one older than her, with blonde fur, a brother figure she thought him as, yes, quite the character too. He was very protective of her and was the one who gave her shelter and love when she was such a young age. The other, a dear friend she remembered, a pink shaded Lai who smelled of lilies. A smile that could make any cloudy day light up or warm the coldest days during winter. Saica remembered she was the one who brought her out of her shy scared state and introduced her to the world that she was once so afraid of being in. The thought of her past made Saica give a heavy sigh, the memory of that day began to play.

It was fall, everything was turning a beautiful array of oranges, reds, and golds. The chill in the air could make any pup shiver, Saica had snuck out of her little burrow that she and Marduk and nestled in before he awoke. She ran out into the orange hued forest in search of her friend Trisha. The pink little Lai was waiting for her as she promised and gave her that heart warming smile in greeting. She then proceeded to explain a game she wanted to play, a game Saica would enjoy she was told. It was called, Hide n' Go Seek, one person counted while the other hid and waiting for the "seeker" to come find them. Trisha began counting and Saica dashed through the leaves causing them to crumple and crunch under her paws. She just ran and ran and ran until she was out of breath and stopped to take a breather. She whirled around in excitement to wait to see Trisha pounce playfully at her like she always did. However, upon turning Saica's happy expression turned to concern. She didn't recognize where she was, none of the trees looked familiar, and she could no longer hear the loud counting from her dear friend. Saica was lost.

Saica's eyes were shut tight at the memory replaying in her mind. She gave an uncomfortable grunt and stood up from her place, deep down something was telling her to go, go, run all the way back. But what stopped her was the thought of leaving her poor frail savior, Thorn barely cared for himself, without her he wouldn't be able to stand from lack of energy. And Saica had no clue whether her friend even still remembered her, would she still be in that same forest? Would she even know who I was or care even if I approached her? These thoughts plagued Saica's mind making her hesitant to leave. A tapping sound she heard from behind. Turning only to see Bolt, the little yellow bird was pecking at the leaf pendant still attached to Saica's tail. Beaten and worn she can't bring herself to simply throw it away, it was all she had left of her childhood from before she met Thorn. Saica gave a low growl and glared at Bolt to make him flutter away. She stared a moment at that pendant, remembering the day Trisha helped her make it. She loved how pretty the leaves were and wanted to be able to wear one, Trisha graciously made it for her as a symbol of their undying friendship. Whether it was still alive or not Saica had strong faith that even with their distance so far apart that she and Trisha were still insufferable friends.

PostSubject: Re: A Lost Friend   A Lost Friend EmptyWed Feb 20, 2013 4:57 pm

Trisha's gaze went over the vegetation of Northern Elaisha. There was so much of it which made the land rather cool. Although, it didn't get too hot anyway, but it still felt nice not to have to worry about any extreme heat. She lifted her head a tad and took in a breath of the chill fall air. The scent started to become more familiar as the sight and smell of a lake came into view. At the time, this place was in mid spring so things began to bloom. She recognized some water lilies by the lake. She walked over to them and dipped her head towards them to take a smell. The petals tickled her nose from the disturbance her nose made. Trisha chuckled out loud as she raised her head again at the tree that stood above the water. The leaves were becoming crisp and brown and the leaves fell to her feet. She couldn't help but lightly press one of her claws on the leaf so she could pick it up and examine it a bit.

Mixed feelings came to mind as she glanced at this leaf. It started to bring more memories of Saica back to mind. When she helped her create her tail clip, and when they first met during a similar fall time. Trisha shook her head and sighed before removing the leaf from her claw. As fun as it was thinking back at the good old times, she had to think in the present and try to find her friend. She ran her gaze over the lake and the tree to see if there could possibly be any trace of her.

"In the name of Daila, I hope I can find you and you will remember the good times were used to have." Trisha murmured to herself as the wind ruffled her fur. She then remembered the last place they had hide and seek. It was within the tangle of trees. She bounded towards the trees and into the mess. Nothing seemed familiar so far. It had been several years since they were within the vegetation. There being any sign would be slim to none but it was still worth a try. She skidded to a stop when she heard a rustle in the bushes. A rabbit hoped out of the trees in fright before disappearing into another tangle of bushes. Probably was just freaked out at the sight of her. Trisha bounded forward to where the rabbit was and managed to kill it under her own weight. She brought the rabbit out from behind the trees before devouring it. All the searching made her exhausted and hungry.

When there was no trace of the rabbit left except for some blood on her teeth, Trisha rested against a tree. Who knew how long it would take her to find Saica and she may as well be well rested up if she does. She will need all the energy she can conserve since she will probably jump for joy and want to talk with her for the rest of the day. She took in a deep breath before closing her eyes for a small nap.

She couldn't stand it any longer, Saica felt so dissatisfied that she went out for a walk. What harm could it do? Thorn was resting anyway after a long night of training his element. So concerned about hurting others with his power that poor Lai trained until he dropped. He and Saica's roles have now switched, she was now the caretaker instead of Thorn. Saica walked in the snow, the crunch sound of it under her now enormous, rough paws. She walked for a while in her own world before she snapped back to reality in the snowy pine forest that was near their cave. She continued remembering her surroundings, she has become much more aware of those since her puphood. Coming across a frozen pond in a slight opening of the thick forest, the dim light shown down through the upper branches and cast sparkling rays to fall upon the pond. Saica watched it sparkle ignoring the cold tingling up her toes, a snowflake landed on Saica's muzzle making her twitch and blink at the surprise it had begun to flurry. Slowly flakes fell through the canopy of pine trees, sparkling in those rays creating a beautiful image. She couldn't help but feel down and lonely, even though she had Thorn and Bolt it seemed to be absent from her mind at the time. She sat herself down in the cold snow and let it make her numb, hoping it would also numb these feelings.

"Trisha..." Was all she distantly mumbled for an extended period of time. Once again her conscience going into its own world. Her eyes had closed in her moment of thought and by the time she had come back it was no longer morning, but mid to late day. It was still snowing, her horns were covered and her fur was starting to freeze and clump with snow sticking to the iced fur. She moved not realizing how stiff she actually was, she stretched and groaned as her muscles shivered with the pleasure of stretching after all that time sitting. The iced fur began to crackle and break, the snow fell off her back and with such a simple movement her body began heating up making it melt as well. Feeling better she decided to head back, looking back at the sparkling rays of light and snow she made her way back home. The faint thoughts of Trisha still in the back of her mind.

Thorn, a lai with medium shades of blue over his thick coat walked his way to the mouth of the cave looking around, he couldn't see all that well but his sense of smell was above average and he could still smell his little Saica. Even though she wasn't little any more, he still care for her as if she was his own. He walked down the steep path to go looking for her, the cold wind blowing right through him, he knew he needed something to eat. he frown, because he needed to find Saica before he thought about dinner. Bolt, his feather companion flew up, peeked a bit on his mask before perching up on one of his horns. Almost knocking one of the ice icicles down he huffed. "comfortable up there bird brain?" Bolt just glared down at him, which in turned made the ice lai smile. "Lets go find our princess." Following after her foot prints.

Trisha soon found out that her little nap turned out to be more than that when the light of the moon woke her up. She managed to have slept where there is a hole in the clump of tree leaves which let the light in. The moon looked like it was smiling down on her and she couldn't help but let a smile on her face under her dark pink mask. She couldn't help but admire the moon, even if it is darker than it's brighter counterpart. Must be something a water shinlai comes to admire. The waves of the water are always pulled around by the silvery orb's pull. She found herself looking for the northern star amongst the dark sky. The northern star was rather bright that night and it made her green eyes sparkle.

The muscles in her legs began to tingle until she got to her feet and stretched. It was probably best that she started moving, even if it was night time. The northern star was up and probably the best time to find her way north of Elaisha. Trisha's legs took on a mind of their own and began to go in the direction that was north. Hopefully, she was being led in the right direction. If not, she was willing to explore all of Elaisha to find her lost friend. Snow started to cover the ground the more north the pink lai went. It became deep enough to cover Trisha's entire paws. Another giggle escaped her jaws as the white, cold snow ran down between her claws.

Saica had been gone for so long the snow began to pile higher, her solemn walk had gone on the majority of her day. By know she knew Thorn must have been awake and wondering where she was, he always worried so much about her as if she was still a pup. The thought made her shake her head & roll her eyes, she wasn't a pup anymore, full grown and trained in the element of earth she was a strong adult now. She walked through the piled snow, it also still falling on her face through protected by her mask she could still feel the cold air as she breathed through her nostrils and heaved large puffs of visible breath in the air. She didn't mind the cold, but looking up at the pine trees as she walked made her miss the look of the orange hued forests of fall. Though she hasn't been anywhere else since she was found by Thorn and Bolt. Snow has always been in her sights, cold, white, grey all colors she's grown so accustomed to waking up to everyday. She sometimes wonders if she could get Thorn to go on an adventure with her one day, just for the heck of it. The sun was still up, it would be for another day or so, they were far enough north that sometimes there was even two days of sun or night, not that she minded Saica enjoyed them both. It felt like she was walking for hours, she probably had been she zoned out so many times she was probably just walking all over the forest.

After a bit of wondering about after Saica's foot prints, Thorn began to get a little worried. She wondered off pretty far this time, and he wasn't sure why. He did his best to not smother her, and gave her a lot of space. But he still didn't want her wondering the forest on her own, and without him knowing.
It was getting colder as the day past, getting to the point where he himself wouldnt be able to last that long in the cold. His stomach growled but he kept on his way, hoping to spot the red panda lai.

Saica retraced her steps after realizing how long she must have been out and walking. She had gone too far, she couldnt quite make out her surroundings and the snow had been falling so much her tracks were becoming less visible. Her stomach began to growl and it dawned on her that she hadnt eaten anything all day. Before the snow got worse, finding some food was going to be crucial and quickly. And while she was at it she would try to get something for Thorn as well, since he was probably waiting for her back at the cave. She used her earth element to begin to feel for life around her, the slightest vibration in the ground and she would detect it, no matter the terrain or weather. She moved on to continue her hunt, but at a hastened pace for the snow was turning into a blizzard.

Trisha tilted her head towards the ground and began to sniff around for any kind of foot print or maybe a leftover carcass. The northern star can only lead her so far. The moon had risen a good ways up into the sky and she had not found any familiar scents or signed of Saica. The snow began to get even heavier the longer she pressed on. The wind ruffled up her fur and she shook her entire being in a shiver. She eyed up the trees around her that might give her cover for the night. She had an idea of where north was so it was probably better that she tried to get some more sleep. The pink lai found that staying up late at night only makes her more tired during the day. She found a decently sturdy tree and attempted to climb it. She was no earth or air lai so she had a more difficult time trying to get her bulk up the tree. One of the branches seemed to be able to hold her weight as she lifted her body onto one of them. Trisha crossed her paws over each other before resting her head on them. The tree gave her decent cover from the falling snow and the wind but there were still flakes of snow that breached the leaves of the tree. She shut her eyes and let her mind take her into her dream-filled imagination.
