Technical Information
How do I set up my Avatar?
- Click Profile "the one with NooNoo"
At the top of your profile you'll see a list of options:
Information | Preferences | Signature | Avatar | Friends and foes | Topic being watched
You want to click Avatar.
I've set it up so everyone will automatically have a basic avatar. :) However you have other choices too!
You can upload an image from your computer, use an image located at a URL, and Use one from our Gallery that the admins uploaded.
Which should I use? Upload an Avatar from an URL or Link to an off-site Avatar?
Upload an Avatar from an URL!!!!
Link to an off-site Avatar causes problems for the site you're using. :) Lets not create hassle!
How do I know I have a PM? What is a PM?
- PM = Private Message. Think of the Notes feature on dA and it's the same thing.
- You can tell you have a PM when you look up at the button between Profile and Login/Logout.
- No new PM's = A Letter with a T-T face
- New PM's = A Letter with a <3 "heart"
Someone commented on my profile, how'd they do that?
- When you click someones name you're automatically directed to their profile. When you get there, at the top of their profile you'll see a list of options to choose from!
Visitor messages | Profile | Statistics | Friends | Contact
You'll want to click Visitor Messages. :)
Friends or Foes?
- You can add people to your Friends list: this will show others who's hanging out with who and so on. Also like on dA, when you write a new PM, you have an option of selecting one of your friends instead of having to type in the name.
-Adding someone to your Foes list is the same as adding them to your Block list.
You can do either one by looking to the right of the
"Visitor messages | Profile | Statistics | Friends | Contact"
option bar. You should see a
Add to my friends list
Add to my foes list
option as well.
What are Groups?
- Groups are just what they sound like. They're groups of people with specific titles such as Admin or Moderator.

There are a bunch of terms people are using, what do they mean?
"we'll update this as they come along but here it goes"
AFK = Away from Keyboard
BRB = Be right back
Thnx = Thanks
Srs = Seriously
Orly = Oh really?
IRC = Internet Relay Chat
Msg = Message
Bbs = Be Back Soon
Op = Operator, basically the admin or controller of the RP
IC = In Character, meaning you're speaking in your characters voice
OOC = Out of Character, meaning you're speaking in your own voice
Strict RP = Meaning little to no OOC ability
KZ = Kill Zone, your character might get killed here
NKZ = No kill Zone, you don't have to worry about your character dying
Soft Rper = Someone who prefers the social interaction but not really the fighting
Medium Rper = Someone who is about half and half
Hard Rper = Someone who prefers to fight
PowerGamer or GodMod = Someone who doesn't let their characters have weakness. Usually not tolerated well with other RP'ers.
GM = Game Master, helps make the game go smoothly.
Character = Not yourself but the thing that's representing you in the RP.
Mary Sue = Kinda like a god mod, inputing yourself in the game as an unrealistic character.
OT = Off Topic
Spamming = Making several posts in a short amount of time that add little value to threads.
Thread hijacking = Changing the topic of a thread so that the purpose of the thread changes to conversation between few individuals. Personal discussion between two individuals should generally remain within PMs. Personal threads can also be created within reason on the general board.
Post-whoring = Spamming and hijacking to increase your posting score/level.
UC = Under Construction, meaning don't post yet
OA = Open and Accepting, you can post
IRL = In Real life
IDK = I don't know
IDC = I don't care
IDR = I don't remember

Can we do private RP's
- You can do private RP's though we'd prefer if you do an open RP.
Well lets say I want to get in trouble, what can we expect?
1st Offense = Verbal Warning from an Admin
2nd Offense = One week Ban + One Mark on the group
3rd Offense = 3 Week Ban + Another Mark on the group
4th Offense = Ban from Forum, Ban from Group. 3rd Mark.
If we suspect you're using more than 1 user name, we can ban your IP address.
One Mark means you cannot participate in the next trade.
Two Marks against you will blacklist you from Shinlai Art Trades.
Three Marks will get you banned from the group and you will loose any and all ability to have a Shinlai, if you have a Shinlai when you reach Three Marks, your Shinlai will go up for Adoption.
We'll keep tabs on who has what offense and at what time. If a user has been good, Admins have the ability to remove a mark against them.
If you think that a judgement has been unfair, you may appeal a decision to an admin seperate from who dished out the judgement. You MUST supply screenshots and or complete information about the incident.
An Appeal that has been denied cannot be re-appealed.
