Kayla would often run away from her home and family. Her two older sisters were perfect in their and their father's eyes. They did everything the way their father expected them too. Kayla was the youngest, she was often blamed for pranks of her two older sisters and got away with it. the older sisters would often bully her and call her names. Her father was an important business man in his town, he expected his girls to be perfectly mannered and behaved. The youngest had a hard time looking presentable, she often got very dirty when playing outside and her father would often hit her for not being perfect enough.
She had tried running away before, but because she is only 9 she has a hard time fending for herself. She spent the next year learning how to trap prey, fish and find fruits and berries. It was her 10th birthday today, no one in her family had remembered her birthday. She decided that today is the day she will run away and never come back!
She left the house late morning when nobody was paying attention, her sisters were busy preening themselves for Daddy's fancy office dinner party later in the day. She put her her little sack on her back, it had a blanket, some matches, a bottle for water, a little knife and some rope for hunting, as well as her favorite little stuffed bunny. Off she went, she ran for the first couple hours, tired out she found a stream and had a drink.
She continued her journey until she came across a beautiful field. She couldn't help herself, she just had to run through the field full of grass and little flowers, stirring up the butterflies and grasshoppers as she went past. She ran and skipped through the field giggling to herself and not paying attention to where she was going. Suddenly she tripped over something and fell into the grass, giving a little giggle at how clumsy she was being. She got back up, brushed the grass off her little blue dress which was spotted with white flowers. She turned around to pick her bag up and spotted a man that was laying in the grass that she had tripped over. "oh, I'm terribly sorry," she said apologetically, "I didn't see you there. Are you ok?" She wanted to lend a hand out to the man to help him up but was rather scared of strangers, she clutched onto the edge of her dress instead.
