I figure we might as well all gossip while waiting for various friends to post in the Rps! I got a bit of a surprise finding that my Rp's are both attracting a lot of people, it's so nice to see the forums being used again :'D

SO! On the adoption sheet which is your favourite design? Are you trying for one, or just looking and the pretties? I'd honestly struggle to pick a favourite one!

Sorry for taking so long to reply, by the way. I've been doing homework simultaneously and when I saw how many new replies there were (at like 9 in the morning? that's not RP time holy smokes) I was like WHOA.

I know! It was a surprise but nice to see people joining in!

I've missed rping SO MUCH. Though I forgot I set the forum to email me whenever a reply to a thread I'm in gets posted to. o-o; I keep getting little ping notices. WOOPS.

Still I'm really really glad to see this place in action again. I forgot just how much I enjoyed shinlai. Even if people only go at it once a day we've got enough participation to keep the rhythm going.

PS: Going for number 8 on the adopt. Everyone seems to be o-e; I'm naming him Odin. He seems like a big floofy viking to me. My SO is going for 6. Immediate attention drawn to the missing a leg. (I was too!) I have to admit ALL the designs were wonderful this time around. It was so hard to pick!

Mmyeah I agree, the designs are all fantastic! I was kind of tempted to go for either 8 (I love stubby faced things) or the 3 legged guy but I think I'll probably have to pass this round. I still have to design my shinlai from the last contest! I kind of want to use a salmon for inspiration.

Yeah! I was so excited to see some new roleplays up (and even more excited when people roleplayed on them and they didn't kind of just die).

All of the designs are gorgeous! I wasn't originally going going to try for one, but I got a really good idea of a history/personality for 9, so I might try for him. But I'm really interested to see what people do with the three legged guy, he has a whole lot of possibilities for an interesting backstory.

A salmon shinlai would be super awesome. I really love all of the animal based shinlai, they're all so pretty. If you go with a salmon for design inspiration I'm going to be really interested to see what you come up with.

And hnnng I've got this wild idea in my head. I've gotta do my ref sheet traditionally which means I of course didn't lay out out nicely...so I'm thinking of scrapbooking it. Like physically cutting out squares, laying them down on another sheet, and then cutting out my drawings and putting them on top and cutting out printed text and doing the same. That way everything looks nicer than hand-writing? :'D I'm insane.

Glad to say I'm really excited to see the species making a come back. I had a bit of fun going off and getting my skills up digitally with another species similar to them.

But enough off topic-ness.

I really like a lot of them and only being able to try for one and having none makes it really difficult for me qnq

I love 4,5,9 and 12.

I wanted to go with 9 but I'm re-reading through some things about elements and such. I really like the idea of the air element more than dark or fire but the competition is already harsh on some of them.

I'm just so excited but so scared at the same time xD

Either way I'm still thinking through it all before trying. Though I know I will just dunno which yet.

I wish I had like a blog on Tumblr specifically for art or something where I could just shove shinlai sketches. I'm so out of practice hnnn.

Hello yes I am a terrible person but I am going to be making an effort back here again (for real this time).

I'm really happy that the shinlai species is kicking back up! I'm needing to finish the height ref betwen Mel, Vu, and MJ (and get his ref on dA 'cause I thought I did that and then abandoned the site again and ARGH BRAIN), I got it mostly done over the summer but it ground to a halt due to unavoidable circumstances.

Also Rose adopt number 6 is too cute, you did too good a job man D:

-FLOP- Finished ref and submitted at like 1 am last night. Talk about cutting it close... o-e;
In the end I really like Odin and his reference sheet. I think I learned a few things for the future. Oh and I also killed my inking pen. Woopsie!

That being said I've got another human character in the works in my head. Big gruff older gentleman, works in the mines directing teams. I've got an itch to rp my humans as you can tell.

Gosh I'd love that! Gotta start pondering him. I think I'll get his basic stuff sorted then let writing him fill him out. That's kind of how Agate went.

I think someone needs a 'lai who is just so tragically poor and outcast that they have no one to make them a mask or to inherit a mask from so instead they just sort of chew some holes in a big plank of wood and strap it to their face.
