Cold. Cold and dark. Cold and dark and hunger and pain. He couldn't see anything but his own luminiscent skin. Couldn't feel anything but the stabbing pain in his jaw. Couldn't think of anything but his growling stomach. How long had it been? A week? A week ago... The memory was worse than all of his discomfort combined. His own father, snarling. His mother, standing aside, worried. The elders, confused. What were they supposed to do? And then... No, he couldn't, wouldn't think of it. Not yet.

The hunger made him lightheaded and he was constantly tripping over things in the dark. Sweet Daila, he was so tired. Maybe rest for a few seconds... As soon as he gave in to the thought, he crashed to the ground, weakly fumbling to find a more comfortable position. Just rest for a few seconds...

It was freezing.
Absolutely freezing.
Feyverne's body ached, her muscles, or what little she had of them, were stiff. The dark Shinlai took in a rasp breath through her nose and exhaled out of her mouth - a cold fog flowing. She couldn't make out how it was so cold; besides the fact that the forest was very dense and hidden from sunlight. It still shouldn't have been so cold. She shivered as she took her steps across the muddy terrain of the dense forest. Her milky eyes glanced around. They were almost useless now. She could barely make out anything a few feet away from her, the rest was foggy. She shouldn't have strayed so far from the group of other Shinlai. It was costing her a fortune being out here practically lost.
She then heard a snap of twigs. Her heightened hearing pitched in, it sounded as it if was only coming from a dozen or so yards away. Fey quietly approached and hid behind a bundle of bushes and trees. She cursed under her breath as she saw another Shinlai, though faint for her sight, collapse onto the ground. She narrowed her eyes. Perhaps she'd watch for a bit. He looked dreadful, exhausted and starved. Fey did her best to keep quiet as she observed him.

(Clara ILU and don't dare ever start again about horrible writing skills cuz they're not)

The sleep came over him immediately, and with it came the dreams. His starving brain didn't make much sense. Images were jumbling around, flowing over into something else. He relived the whole, dreadful hour in which the elders nervously gave him orders. "Lift this stone with your power. Feel it, feel the core of it's existence..." But he hadn't felt anything but the burning of his fathers eyes in his back. The scene changed, became a tornado of black and grey that had his fathers head. "YOU USELESS PIECE OF MEAT!!! I WILL SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE!!!" In his sleep, Phlorian tried to scurry away, away from his father, from that horrible rage and disappointment. His claws twitched in the earth and his mouth opened and closed as if he were trying to scream. A roar. A stabbing pain, and then the whole world ended in light so bright as he only had seen in his dreams.

With a shock Phlo sat straight up, his head whipping around in panick. He took a second to steady himself, breath in, breath out, in, out... He didn't even notice the milky blue eyes peeking through the bush as he tried to shake of the dream.

[FFFFFF oh you I love you]

Fey still watched the male Shinlai, her thoughts swimming as well. 'This lunatic,' she thought to herself, 'is having a nightmare.' She watched him twitch for a moment. She was intent on helping him, though, if he were a Dailan she'd be cross about it. She didn't like making contact with them however small-minded she seemed. The dark shinlai jumped as the male gave out his roar; she gave a tiny squeak from behind the patch of brush. Her heart pounded quickly in her chest as she watched him. Only hoping that he hadn't heard her. She swallowed, her throat dry and her adrenaline rushing.

(eeeeee Fey you are so adorable)

Alright. Trees? Check. Earth? Check. Discomfort? Well crap. He should really do something about that. The problem was that he was lost in a Daila forsaken forest where bushes make squeaky sounds. At least he wasn't exhausted anymo- wait, squeaking bushes? He turned his head again, more slowly this time. A smell caught his attention and he whipped his head in it's direction. Could it be? It couldn't be. His bright, blue eyes scrutinized the bush until he stared right into a pair of eyes as blue as his own.
