Setting: a trail cutting through a valley the trail overlooks a stream the sky is a firey orange and red as it
is approaches evening. The air is filled with the sound of frogs, crickets, and the buzzing of other insects.
the trail is covered by brush on both sides the trail is quite overgrown.




Jagter and three other people where taking a short cut through an old forgotten trail. Although Jagter did know this people he didn't know them personally. "So are we all going to the same place?" he said jokingly with a slight grin. "Well of yeah of course." one of the three shot back. "Going to take the guild test too?" Jagter responded. He then stopped walking shifted his knapsack the first of the three walked toward him "Jagter and you?" "Lovec" he said with a firm hand shake "Who are your buddies?" Jagter asked "Actually they aren't my buddies I assume they going to the guild too." Looking at Lovec's weapon he saw a fearsome halbret. "Wow what do you specialise in what part of the guild if you don't mind me asking?" jagter said "Security and hunting,you?" lovec said "Me hunting and blacksmith." As Jagter and Lovec began to walk the the other two began catch up

Miera walked silently along with the rest of the smal group, her last contract had ended messily, and she'd needed to get out of the town as quickly as possible with the least amount of susspicion (spell fail, pff). When she'd spotted the group leaving the village, and heading in the direction she need to go, she silently joined them. They hadn't even noticed she wasn't one of them.

Ajusting her cloak, she picked up her pace to catch up with the group. It would be odd if she suddenly dissapeard, and besides, they were still going the same way she intended.

"So are we all going to the same place?" I doubt it. she thought to herself
"Well of yeah of course."
"Going to take the guild test too?" Aah, so these guys are quildsmen. That would explain a few thing

She ignored most of the two mens conversation, but couldn't supress a derisive snort when the second man, Lovec, said he specialised in security.

"So are you going to take the exam?" Jagter asked Lovec "Me? nah just to brush up on some skills." Lovec replied
Jagter looked over his shoulder to see how far the other two caught up,then he saw another figure from a distance he could tell it was
a woman. "Thats odd I could have sworn their where only 3 people other on the trail." Jagter whispered. "Huh? Whats odd?" Lovec blurted out "Nothing." Jagter quickly replied. A few mintues of silence was between them until Lovec broke the silence "So tell your a hunter, right?" "What was your greatest feat?" Jagter thought for a second "Well I once decapitated a grizzle that was bigger then a horse in 2 and half swings." "A half swing? Whats that?" Lovec questioned "Don't ask all I know was may arm was sore for a few days after." Then the two men chuckled. "Enough about me what of you?" Jagter said with a smurk "I kill three assassins in one night."
"Really how?" Jagter asked puzzeled "I was guarding a nobleman he was scared someone would kill him. He had a few of the other guards placed throw out his manor.I was to guard his quarters, so I'd figure I'd in the closet the closer the better I waited all day until I heard the door open out comes two assassins they crept toward the nobleman and had thier backs to me, and just as they where about to strike I sprang from the closet and took out both of them then the last assassin walks in tries to stab me I manage to killed too all the while the nobleman screaming in soprano." Jagter was so engrossed in the story he nearly tripped "Wow thats quiet a feat."
"But how did they get in?" "Well if I may finish I'll tell you." Lovec said. "As it turned out the assassins where the same guards he had hired." Jagter was amazed the the story was amazing in fact to amazing he decided to play along "That's a good story." Jagter said with a grin "Really you belief me?" Lovec said sounding shocked. "Yeah why not?" Jagter looked up and saw that the other two had passed them but the woman was behind them

Chylle sat under a willow tree and watched the men. She was disguised with a bit of natural green paint and mud. She sat with Selousi, a shinlai that she had met vacationing. Selousi was lying down on the opposite side of the tree asleep. She was glad that the shinlai was colored with browns and greens, if she had been red or blue she would be completely obvious even if she was laying down to the ground.The journey back from the place was long and laborous on a boat. She had gotten sea sick and nearly upchucked her meal that she had eaten before. Chylle returned her focus back to the three, she scooted down a bit and stayed still. Her makeup and hair color was perfect for her to blend into the habitat. Even though she had come to observe something other than guildspeople, she was enticed by them too. She closed her eyes, noticing that one was swinging his head her way but then looked back in the opposite direction.
Chylle noticed another group of people, she scanned her face with her green eyes and then closed them again and returned to listening.

"So tell your a hunter, right? What was your greatest feat?"
She snorted, he was probably going to say something about bear wrestling, after working in a bar she had heard plenty of stories like that.
The man spoke about a bear as she thought he would and she nearly chucked, but she caught herself.

Another phrase then caught her ear, and Selousi's if she had any recognizeable ears.

One of the men was saying something interesting, about being an assassin.

"I kill three assassins in one night." Said Lovec.

Selousi glanced at the men, snaking her head around the tree to look. She widened her eyes as she realized one of the men was Jagter, an old friend, really.
"Chylle," She mumbled in a low, quiet voice. "I know the hunter, I've met him many times before."

Chylle glanced at Selousi and raised a brow.
"Really now? Well it's best not to approach them. For a man in a guild like him, he may set aside any sort of friendship and try to murder a poor, young shinlai such as yourself."
Selo shrank her head back at the thought and looked down. 'Would Jagter really do that? Just for bragging rights and popularity in his guild? It was true that there were many men who would try such a thing but she knew him.. didn't she? After all she had helped him bring down a bear. Maybe that was the one he was talking about.'
She grunted miserably at the thought. Perhaps even a little too loud. Chylle closed her eyes and retrieved a pocket knife. She dreaded guild members, they had a tendency to be trouble.

Miera's full lips pulled into a sneer as Lovec talked about the three 'assassins' he'd killed in one night. Three guards payed of to take a hit were nothing to brag about... especialy when they were dumb enough to charge in through the front door.

The slightest of rustlings and a grunt had her eyes snapping imeadiately to the source. A shinlai, well camoflaged too... and a human. She looked back at the guildsmen.
Lets see how much of a huntsmen this Jagter is, going by Lovecs skills of observation, these guildsmen are overrated.

While Lovec was talking Jagter notice a glint of light and gave a passive gaze a first glance he saw nothing ,then upon closer inspection he faintly saw an outline of a person. "Hey would you say this trail well known?" Jagter said in a near whisper "Huh? Why are you whispering?" Lovec said "Nevermind, I just saw someone thats all." Jagter said with a slight sound of concern. Lovec answered the question "Oh and this trail is quite well known, though few transverse it because of the trail is overgrown if that answer your question." Jagter paused "If you heard me then why did act like you couldn't here me?" "Because when you whisper it make you look like your hiding something." Lovec said with a raise brow "Besides bandits only go for rich looking folk or merchants we likely don't appeal to them anyway." "Oh you really think so?" Jagter said looking over his shoulder "Yeah thats what I figured too."

"Chylle," Selousi said under her breath, "Chylle. I think they're talking about us." She sank lower and more behind the trunk of the massive tree.

"Don't worry so much. I doubt it. Even if he is a hunter he can't possibly notice me. I learned this makeup job from one of my closest friends. They're a professional and I trust them enough. He'll probably just think it was sap on a tree." After she spoke she pursed her lips and Selousi would have thought even she would have a hard time finding her as is. Her short hair was alcohol dyed a feathery brown as well.

Selousi sighed a bit and closed her eyes. She had been told by Chylle to put on a plain wooden mask today. How dreadfully boring.

Miera slowed down, and stopped in front of the pair, observing them with her keen, dark eyes.

"Good evening," She said, a small smirk pulling at the side of her mouth, as she watched the faces of the guildsmen as they finally realised she was there.

"Even ma'am" Jagter responded. "Good evening to you too." Lovec said with a smile.
The men continued to walk and disscussed guide politics. Jagter looked up and saw the sun was nearly setting
"Should we could stop and make camp?" Jagter asked "Well see, If we continue through the night well get there by day break."
Lovec replied. Jagter placed his hands behind his head "Oh well, most people aren't use to walking all the way through the night usually." Jagter sighed he then looked at the woman "What about you?" he asked "Are you walking all night too?"

Chylle saw the lady walk up to the guildmembers and she grew even more so irritated. She gritted her teeth and grabbed her canister and bag. Time to look normal. Chylle took the warm water in the bottle and poured it over her face and arms. She took off her baggy camo clothing And put on her saloon dress. It was all that she had.
"Hello?" she shouted, after getting up. "Sir! Can you aid me? I've been lost in this awful forest and I don't know where any close by villages are! " she said, walking up to him. "Can I travel with you?"

Selousi sat there gaping. She was left alone, with the only command left whispered by Chylle being 'Stay there, I'm going to go investigate to see how dangerous they are.' But to her, it looked like she was leaving. Selousi crept forwards and noticed that the other girl glances back at her a moment. Investigate this. She thought, letting out somewhat of a howl.

Cat-napping at some distance away, a lazy, egotistical teen shifted at the sound of the Shinlai's growl. Drowsy, he blinked and suddenly sat up, stretching an excited grin on his face. He trembled with excitement at the nearby danger of an angry 12-foot giant of the elements. Now full of energy, he snatched his bag off a branch and slid down a favorite tree of his, landing roughly and hunched over with a whump on the dirt floor, stirring up a small cloud, pausing for a moment.

He soon shook out his ankles and straightened himself up. Dantes stood about about 6 feet tall, with broad shoulders and had a bit of amateur muscle under his slightly tan skin. His straight dark hair just reached past his eyebrows, meeting the matching dark irises. If he were from Earth, he'd resemble a Filipino or Hawaiian. ((lol too much description ;; ))

He blinked awkwardly and swiveled his view to the side, taking in the adrenaline for an adventure. He bounced a bit before starting to dash down an unfamiliar path to the source, holding his arms out to take the blow of branches in his way. He couldn't stop grinning.

(Selo is about eight feet actually, so she's a petite Lai! Hehe.. But I guess she might look bigger at a distance.)
Selo, hearing all the ruckus behind her turned her head around and looked at the boy running strait at her and she let out a small 'eep!'. She was confused, why was this boy running at her and what did he want? She took a few steps back and bumped into a tree.

Dantes skid to a stop with his mouth hanging open, either from the short breaths he was recovering, or simply admiring the awe of of the majestic creature. He was quite some distance away, hoping she wasn't hostile, and he laughed at himself for being so carefree in the presence of this 'Lai and her land.

As Jagter and Lovec where walking the hear a voice Jagter turned his head to see a woman in a saloon dress "Sir! Can you aid me? I've been lost in this awful forest and I don't know where any close by villages are! " she said, walking up to him. "Can I travel with you?" Jagter was at his best was no social butterfly and many relied on others for social clues. Jagter looked at Lovec and shrugged Lovec then turned toward him and shrugged back. Jagter looked back at the woman. "Sure you can travel with us the next town is about half a day away."

Chylle sneered a bit in snotty extion the turned back to the two men. "Where are we heading, boys?" she said with a hand on each of their shoulders. She was far too used to swooning men at bars for the heck of it.

Selousi took a deep breath and then ceased being tense. She lurched forwarda a bit and looked at the boy. He was only curious.
"Ah... Hello!" she said with a sheepish smile.

Rubisa stopped, leaning against a tree to get a rock from her boot... unlacing it down the back from the knee would take a while.

Callandrea hadn't noticed her partner's ailing foot, smelling something on the air... familiar... flowers, and green life...

Selousi!!!

She thundered down the pass, following her nose, stopping short and nearly spilling the contents of her saddled packs.

The shinlai's mask making materials and jewelry clinked and clattered within the packs at her withers, and dust and dirt were kicked up by her feet in the sudden halt.

"Hi Selousi I missed you so terribly-how ARE you darling-and who is this guy?" she asked with as close to a friendly grin as a shinlai could get...

Rubisa approached, slowly, one boot on and one stocking foot, boot in hand. "What's going on, Selousi? This guy isn't bothering you, right?" She asked, not accusing, only curious.

She looked at Candy, who's grin featured a lovely set of teeth. Rubusa gave her a nudge to stop being so friendly, with a grin at the frightened human. Rubisa observed the young man. They were near the same age, it seemed, and she was more experienced in the area of shinlai... could be helpful if he were to cause trouble, she thought.

Selo bumped into her tree again, smiling sheepishly.
"Ah! Hello! Callandrea!" she said slowly but surprisedly. I didn't know you would be out about these parts today! How is your maskmaking going..?"
She lowered her head a bit and turned slightly to the boy.
"um, I don't know who he is, honestly. I think he might be kind of in shock now though. It seems like many don't know that we can also speak."

Chylle turned back at the sound of Selo's voice. All she could think was bad about this. Damn guildsmen would try to hurt both the shinlai now. She hated their sick way of bragging. In her hand and behind her sleeve she concealed a knife that had no luster, as it was made with wood and dusted with dirt. The only metal was a fine inner blade of steel.

"Hi Selousi I missed you so terribly-how ARE you darling-and who is this guy?" Upon hearing the name Selousi Jagter looked around
and saw her Jagter grinned and waved "Who are you you waving at?" Lovec asked. "The shinlai over by the tree with a boy near it."
Jagter replied. Lovec looked at the sky "If we keep slowing down we'll be late, already the other two are out of sight." Jagter nodded his head in agreement "Lady do you think you could walk through the night or so you need to rest?" Lovec asked the woman.

Rubisa Saw Jagter's wave and alerted Selousi to the notion from the hunter.

Callandrea turned to the boy, who looked around Rubisa's age. "Who are you, sir?" She sat now, resting her weary feet.

Rubisa fidgeted with the ring on her hand, leaning against Candy's shoulder. "Where are you headed, Selo?"

Selousi muttered to herself and glanced back at callandrea, she was much like herself, an earth shinlai tha invested her time into finding materials and creating masks and jewelry of all sorts. She approached her.
" I believe this is one of several times I've had the occasion of meeting you."
