Coast Morning

Righty ho, new Rp! Brought to you by yours truly :D
So anyway, this Rp’s based on the west coast of Falden, the best is backed by a cliff, not an overly large one but a cliff none the less (my Rp’s seem to like cliffs) Alk, Dag and Pip’s temporary home is set in the base of the cliff, in a small cave. The land at the top of the cliff is mainly grass land with a few trees dotted about. It’s their holiday so to speak c:
While this is open for everyone, think about it. It’s based on Falden, which is where Tieto is... which is the Elite’s base city... You put a DB in here they’ll b in enemy territory XD
Humans and Shinlai are welcome c:

So basic rules:
If you must fight, don’t drag others into it, I don’t think Pip’s much of a fighter.
No killing, although I think everyone knows this by now XD
Have fun! And no stealing the baby! Or the Banshee

“Mum! Mum, mum, mum, mum, mum!” Came the repetitive chirp. Alkyone managed to crack one eye open and peered at the small white and purple pup standing on her nose with her two front paws. “Mum, get up! Mum!” She continued. Alkyone stared levelly at her for a moment, before opening her mouth wide in a yawn, feeling the tiny front paws slip off with a bump.

“What is it, love?” She asked managing to lift her head and stare down at the little pup. The little one sat down and stared up at her with wide icy blue eyes.

“I wanna go outsideeee.” She whined.

Alkyone raised her eyebrows and managed to crack open her other eyes. “Why don’t you and Dagd-” She stopped and looked around, the small cave they were in was empty. “He’s already up isn’t he?” She asked. The pup nodded back eagerly. “Alright, alright, you win this time.” She said, slowly standing up with a leisurely stretch, she picked up her mask from by the wall and slotted it onto her face, feeling the catches clip into place.

There was an excited squeal and the pup bolted for the cave entrance, her gold necklace with a rose hanging from it, bouncing around madly. Alkyone’s eyebrows shot up even higher at the speed of her pup. But she trotted after her anyway.

“Oie! Pipistella! Slow down!” She yelled as she reached the narrow mouth of the cave. She squeezed through the opening and out into the morning sunlight. She yawned and stretched again, screwing her eyes up against the summer sun. There was a thump, and Alkyone wobbled slightly as something ran into her leg. “You ma’am, are hyper this morning.” She stated. Pipistella nodded happily at her, the tuft of red fur flopping all over the place.

Alkyone stood up straight and scanned the view in front of her. They were staying in a cave on the coast for a while. The wide long pristine white sands stretched in front of them and out to the sides, giving them a clear view of the blue sea. About half way down the beach was the black and white shape of Dagda, sitting up and staring out to sea. Alkyone looked down at Pipistella to see her sat down as well, staring at the view. Despite how hyper she could be, it wasn’t unusual for her to stop and just look at the world around her. Alkyone smiled and lowered her head to Pipistella’s ear.

“Race ya.” She challenged, before bolting off across the sand towards Dagda. She heard an excited squeal and the tiny paws hitting the sand as Pipistella chased her. She was surprisingly speedy, catching up with Alkyone in moments. She managed to overtake and barrelled into Dagda with a rather solid thump. Startled, Dagda fell over to one side, only for Pipistella to stand on his side triumphantly. Alkyone sat down next to them with a broad smile.

Dagda peered up at the pair of them. “Good morning to you as well.” He chortled, Pipistella wobbling on his side. She promptly circled around and curled up on him, preventing him from moving, and making content chirping noises.

“Good morning.” Alkyone replied, nuzzling him and giving Pipistella’s forehead a small lick. She lay down next to Dagda, head up and alert. “When will they be here?” she asked scanning the horizon.

“No idea. Thought you gave a time?” He replied his head resting in the sand. “It doesn’t matter too much does it? They’ll get here when they get here.” He hummed, closing his eyes. Pipistella gave a soft chirp from his side and peered at the both of them.

“True, true.” Alkyone hummed back eyes half lidded.

Melody walked along through grass and sparse trees; Alk had told her this is about where they'd be and today was the day she was supposed to return Iapto to them... However, the smaller shinlai couldn't find hide nor hair of the water or earth shinlai anywhere. She turned and looked at the sleepy thief and their shared musician of a sister on her back and sighed- fat lot of help they'd be right now...

After walking to a dead end that was a cliff, Mel looked down and saw a largish lump on the ground... That happened to be Alk and Dag colored if she squinted and looked really hard. Craning her neck around, she saw one of two things that could happen... Go around and look for an easy way down or...

"Hey... Iapto... Are you awakeish?" the balance shinlai asked, looking at the human situated closest to her tail on her back.

With a stretch and a yawn, Iapto replied with, "Yeah just about, sup?"

Mel looked back down the cliff, asking, "Are you... Afraid of hieghts?" before adding on, "and you can swim, right?"

"Uhh not really no, and I can swim well enough..." Iapto answered, then added, "why?"

"Oh... No reason..." she said, slowly backing up, "but could you hold onto Farai really tight for me? This is gonna be a bit of a rude awakening..." Was all the balance shinlai said before running and leaping off the cliff and falling toward the sea, using her air ability to slow their fall so they wouldn't hit the water too hard...

"Wait Wh-AHHH!" Iapto yelped, managing to grab her sisters waist and hang onto Mel. "The heck are you doing?!" She exclaimed as they slowed in their descent.

Mel craned her head around, "This was faster than walking with you two on my back all day in the hot sun before getting down there... Oh, morning Farai." she quipped upon seeing her sister's shocked face and felt her fingers tangle into her neck fluff.

"MEL, WHAT THE HELL?" was Farai's reply as she noticed the ocean approaching fast.

"Time saving and a wake-up call." was Mel's calm reply- though there was a smirk in her tone.

Upon seeing the closeness of the water, Mel yelled "HOLD ON TIGHT!" before she hit the water, belly first with a loud SPLOOSH!

Iapto cringed as the water soaked her legs and trousers. "Really Mel? Really? Into the sea? there's some nice soft sand right over there." Iapto muttered, gesturing towards the shore.

Mel cringed and quietly(which slowly raised in volume) chanted, "owowowowowowowOWOWOWOWOW-" before spitting out some water and glaring over her shoulder- "Because from high up, that soft sand could've just as easily been a rock we'd be a red smear on right now..."

To which Farai threw on, "... And she hadn't thought of that." laughing before she was splashed with an odd wave with a gust of wind right behind it... Farai glared at Mel who only whistled innocently and trotted up the beach toward the two shinlai the group knew so well.

Mmm the salty breeze felt great against Deston's fur as his boat slowly sailed the water towards land. It wouldn't be long now, they'd reach the nearest port, and he could go about and stretch his legs that had been cramped in the boat for the past few days. His companion, Uri, slept against the large blue lai's stomach, curled up like a kitten as he normally did. Deston looked down at the boy with a soft smile, he was sure the child was just as eager as he was to get back on solid ground. Not long now, not long.


In the meanwhile, Ida patrolled the barracks and stands at port, looking for a nice juicy fish she could snag from under someone nose, be it salesman or fisherman. Echo did the same, not to far apart from his feline companion, he eyed her every now and then to check if she'd manage to get hold of something. He walked up to one of the stands and while distracting the saleswoman by pointing at a fish on one end, he reached his hand and grasped the tail of another, swiftly pulling it in to his bag without drawing so much as a fly's attention. Success! They'd be eating well tonight. After bidding farewell to the woman, a pitched whistle brought Ida back to him. Off to the beach to set up camp for the night.

Alkyone’s head jerked up, eyes half stuck together, she hadn’t meant to fall asleep again. Blinking she looked around trying to work up what had woken her up. Just in time to hear a loud splash, followed by disgruntled muttering. She yawned and stood up with a stretch, looking around, she could see something out to sea, a large pale shape with two smaller objects on its back.

“Dagda, we have company.” She said nudging him with a foot.

Dagda’s head lurched upright. “What! Whe-I didn’t-What?” He bumbled, blinking and snorting, he gave his head a shake, almost dislodging Pipistella from his side. She chirped quietly and put a paw over her nose in her sleep. “Sorry, dosed off.” He said.

“I think Mel’s here.” Alkyone said giving her fur a small shake and peering out at the swimming figure. She watched as they climbed out of the water and headed down the beach towards them. “Iapto’s back.” She added smiling at Dagda.

Pipistella’s head shot up, showing she had been awake all the time. “Iapto?’ She asked, staring straight at them. “Iapto!” She yelled, launching herself off of Dagda and bolting across the sands towards them. Dagda struggled to his feet and trotted off after her, shaking his head but with a smile.

One of the humans slid off Mel’s back and began jogging next to Mel. Just in time for Pipistella to smack into her and knock her over backwards. “Gah!” Iapto exclaimed as she was forced over by a bundle of purple and white fluff. She managed to bundle the pup into her arms and stand up again, Pipistella sat in her arms with front feet atop of Iapto’s head. She chirped loudly several times, clearly excited that Iapto had arrived. “Alight yes I missed you too.” Iapto said hanging onto her and trying her best not to drop her. She was easily the size of a large dog, maybe more.

Alkyone watched them bounce off with a grin. Pipistella was so hyper sometimes, and Dagda so diligent in his looking after her, following her wherever she ran. She looked around back out to see ocean, and spotted a boat out to sea, it was heading in land, its sails full with the wind behind it. Despite the fact there was no wind ruffling Alkyone’s fur.

‘Must be an Air Shinlai near by.’ She tilted her head to one side and looked to where the boat was heading, the small fishing village just down the coast.

With a grin she bolstered the sea behind the boat, with a slight lurch the boat speed quicker towards the dock, the wave subsiding as it neared, before stopping and letting the boat glide into the dock. With a smile she sat down and watched the slightly larger group head over. Now with Dagda totting along side and Iapto struggling to carry the large pup. “Hey Mel, interesting way of arriving.” Alkyone said jokingly.

Mel walked down the beach and noticed a little ball of fluff running at her. Slightly confused, she kept going, not stopping when Iapto slid off her back but stopping when the little ball of fluff tackled Iapto. When Iapto stood up with a small little shinlai pup, Mel's green eyes widened, looking at the approaching earth shinlai, "When was I supposed to learn about this bundle o' fulff?"

“Hey Mel, interesting way of arriving.” to which Mel rolled her eyes and Farai laughed, sliding down the little shinlai's back and landing next to her sister and the pup.

"Har-dee-har-har, Alk..." Mel said, trying to get a better look at the pup, "And it beat walking around with those two on my back all morning long." She smiled when Farai let out a sigh and gave the shinlai a good-natured shove. "Anywho, who's the li'l cutie?" she smiled, turning her attention to the pup. "I'm Mel, by the way... And the red-haired human here is Farai." Mel introduced, prodding her sister foreward.

Rowan sat on a low ancient stone wall that streached down from the fishing village, and onto the beach before crumbling into ruins in the surf. She bounced her coin purse in one hand, a smile on her face as she rubbed Kiva's ears and waited for Echo and Ida.
When they had arrived at the edge of the village, Echo and his albino Serval had headed for the fishmarket by the port, to 'aquire' dinner, telling her to meat him on the beach, while she had set off for the traders stalls in the village centre.

During their travelling, Rowan and her cat, Kiva, had continued to hunt bright coloured birds who's feathers she made into trinkets and baubles that she bartered at towns they'd passed though. Since travelling with Echo, she'd had the added help of Ida, who could catch larger animals than Kiva. As result she'd had plenty of things to sell and had made ten times the amount of coin she had when she was alone. Enough to buy the new boots that were tucked away in the tattered bag beside her, and still leave a good amount left over.

She probably wouldn't need to depend on how well the cat's hunted if Echo's attempts to teach her to to steal had worked. While she was silent as a wraith in the wilds and forests, as soon as she entered a village she was guarentied to trip over or bump into something. In fact, she'd never have met Echo if she was any good at stealing, since that fiasco in the pub of that little village, he'd become like her older brother, taking the place of the family she'd lost.

She looked out at the rolling blue waves, breathing in the salty air as she watched a boat swiftly ride the wind to port.

Deston and the crew felt the sudden jolt as the water behind the ship seemed to form in to a wave that impulsed them forward. The blue shinlai looked overboard, then back at the coast with a squint, enough to make out distinctive purple shinlai blurs "Water shinlai..." he muttered with a contempt smirk. Looks like that 'soon enough' would be there quicker than he thought. They arrived at the dock, Deston nudged the boy lightly "Uri, wake up child" he said softly as the boy's eyes flickered to an open. He yawned "We there yet?" he mumbled, still half asleep. Deston chuckled and pulled the tired one on to his back "Yes, we're here." The two left the ship and padded across the dock, down towards the coast line. Eventually, they hit the sand. "Now, I should find the shinlai who kindly brought us ashore." he swooped his long neck from one side, than the other. He continued down the beach, he knew that eventually he'd run in to them.

"Rowan! Dinner!" Echo shout from behind the girl as he and Ida approached, walking in parallel with the wall. He pulled the fish from his bag, holding it by the tail "Let's just hope that's enough" he glanced down at Ida and Kiva. "Anyone give you trouble?" he questioned as he sat next to her, Ida soon playfully tackled Kiva.

Beads of sweat were rolling down her face, tickling and making her hair all itchy. With an impatient gesture, she wiped them away. For like, the millionth time. Her breath was rapid and shallow, but she kept smiling and held her balance. The large crowd that had formed around her began to cheer louder and louder when she remained in her upside-down-one-hand-stand, until she very slowly lowered her toes to the ground and stood up straight again. The crowd went wild, applauding and throwing coins. She let out a loud huff, took a deep breath and took a bow.

"Thank you ladies and gentleman! Thank you, you are most kind!"

The crowd began to shatter again, leaving behind pretty, shiny coins. Ruan Tu picked up every single one, making sure not to miss a single piece of metal. Some people had just thrown their worthless small change, the usual, but a quick scan of her bag learned that some golden pieces were there as well. She smiled. There wouldn't be need for a second performance on an empty belly today.

Feeling much better already, Ruan walked over to one of the market stalls that sold fresh bread. She picked a rough, dark loaf and then decided to allow herself some luxury and get some cheese as well. With the smell of the food in her nose she looked around for a place to sit. Her eye fell on a low, stone wall. Someone already was sitting on it, but she was in for some company anyway. Just as she went, two other people joined the girl on the wall. Oh well, Ruan thought, the more the merrier.

"Hey, mind if I sit down here?"

"When was I supposed to learn about this bundle o' fulff?" Mel asked in alarm.

Dagda gave a deep throated chuckle. “When you next visited, which would be today.” Dagda replied, with a grin. Alkyone matched his grin as she tilted her head to one side, watching Mel’s reaction to her child.

"I'm Mel, by the way... And the red-haired human here is Farai." Mel said looking at the little pup.

Pipistella chirped and shifted around awkwardly in Iapto’s arms, her soft front paws messing Iapto’s hair in all directions. “Mel... Farai...” She chirruped, she stared intently at Farai for a moment, before pushing herself back to look at Iapto, almost falling from her arms. “The human looks like youuu.” She said in a loud whisper.

“That’s because she’s my sister.” Iapto whispered back with a grin. Pipistella stared at her in confusion for a moment.

“But I thought I was your sister..? Is she my sister too?” Pip asked slowly, she struggled around in Iapto’s arms, Iapto franticly trying not to drop her, and stared at Farai intently. She gave an excited squeak and stuck her front legs out, leaning far out of Iapto’s arms towards Farai.

“Good grief she likes you.” Alkyone said with a laugh. “Technically we have four sisters right here...” Alkyone added with a chuckle. “And here I was thinking I only had one pup...” She mused.

Dagda suppressed a laugh and glanced down the beach, to the village on the horizon. He narrowed his eyes as he spotted a shape in the distance. “Seems like there’s another Shinlai on the beach.” He said softly to Alkyone. He received a tail flick in reply, how she normally responded if talking to another at the time.

She was resting her head in her hand, and had started to doze, when a shout from behind her snapped her awake. "Rowan! Dinner!" She turned and saw Echo walking towards her, parallel to the wall, ha had pulled a fish from his bag, holding it by it's tail "Let's just hope that's enough" he added, glancing at the cats as the serval tackled the dozing.

"Kiva shouldn't eat much, he's been lowering the local seagull population." the was a conspicuous pilled of tattered gull feathers where kiva had been snoozing.

"Anyone give you trouble?" She shrugged, "Not really, I think the people hear are used to shabby travellers."

"Hey, mind if I sit down here?"

She turned towards the voice, seeing a girl holding a loaf of bread and cheese. "S'fine by me." Rowan said cheerily as Kiva and Ida rolled past, wrestling in the sand.

"S'fine by me."

"Thanks." she said, smiling widely now. With one hand she balanced the cheese and bread, with the other she pulled out a sharp knife from her bag. It was very well made, perfectly balanced and she normally used it for knife juggling. It would however do. Ruan neatly sliced of some cheese and offered it to her new company.

"Care for some? It's quite tasty." With a wink she ate some herself. Then she swallowed and cleared her mouth again. "So, you guys from around here?"

Uri let out another large yawn and sat clinged to Deston's neck scruff. He chuckled "Are you awake now, Uri?" The blue shinlai asked as they continued down the beach. The sand was a delight against Deston's paws, to the point he nearly purred. Oh, how great it was to be back on solid ground. Deston had finally seen the small group of shinlai--and apparently humans, sitting on the beach. He approached, a tad hesitant, knowing there were such a thing as 'bad' shinlai.
"Hello there!" He said with a slight bow in respect.


"Hey, mind if I sit down here?"

Echo threw a glance at the approaching woman with cheese and bread at hand "...Ye--." he got cut off by Rowan's "S'fine by me." He squint at the woman, always with his usual cautious glare, pulling up his scarf to cover most of his face.

She noticed Echo glaring cautiously at the woman, and rolled her eyes as her pulled his scarf over his face. She offered Rowan a slice of her cheese "Care for some? It's quite tasty.". Rowan smiled, "No thanks." She'd lived on wild plants, and eating very little meat for so long, that richer foods like cheese made her ill.

She spaced out and stared off down the beach, noticing a group of shinai near the cliffs with another approaching. She could see a pair of humans standing with them.... Somthing about the way they're standing looks familiar.. she mused.

She slid from the wall and started walking away, "I'm going for a walk, if I don't come back I probably got distracted by something shiney" She said over her shoulder.

The closer she got to the group, the more positive she was of who the two humans were. Unoticed by the group, she broke into a silent run, and grinning like a mad person, tackled the red head, having noticed the brunette akwardly holding a Shinlai pup the size of a large dog.

"IAPTO!! FARAI!!!!"

Mel almost missed Dagda's saying, “When you next visited, which would be today.” but didn't comment on it, just rolling her eyes and looking back to Pip.

“Mel... Farai..." The little shinlai said before turning to Iapto, “The human looks like youuu.”

Iapto said something to Pip that Mel couldn't hear, but Pip's saying, “But I thought I was your sister..? Is she my sister too?” lead Mel to have a guess. She was about to say something when the pup turned back to Farai and flailing her front feet toward Farai.

"I guess so..." Farai said. At Pip's flailing, the red-head grabbed the front limbs to keep the pup from falling out of Iapto's arms completely.

“Good grief she likes you.” Alkyone said with a laugh. Mel giggled a little before Farai sent her a glare.

“Technically we have four sisters right here...” Alkyone added with a chuckle. Mel took a sideways glance, determined to hold her tongue, she wasn't going to say-

“And here I was thinking I only had one pup...” Alk said, to which Mel turned back to the larger shinlai. Nope, couldn't not say it...

With a grin, Mel asked, "Does this mean I can call you mom?" jokingly batting her eyes.

A call of, "Hello there!" came from a shinlai Mel didn't know, Mel tilted her head and looked back to Alk, giving a questioning look of, 'D'you know him?'

Before Farai knew it, there was a shout of, "IAPTO!! FARAI!!!!" and a hyperactive girl came running towards the humans, tackling Farai who, in turn, lost her grip on Pip and falling onto Iapto, the three humans and shinlai pup toppling onto the sand, everyone covered in sand but no worse for wear.

After spitting out a mouthfull of sand, Farai turned and looked at the black-haired girl, remembering her from somewhere... With her hair messed up a little, she reminded her a little of... "Oh! Hey Rowen... How are you?" Standing and picking up Pip, she started brushing sand off the pup's fur.

"Does this mean I can call you mom?" Mel asked, fluttering her eyes.

“Only if I get to call you banshee.” Alkyone replied smoothly.

"Hello there!" A voice said. Alkyone stood up and Dagda looked around at the new voice. A blue Shinlai with a bright flash of red on his throat was bowing politely to them.

“Good morning.” Alkyone said, inclining her head to him.

Dagda gave a curt nod to him, spotting the young human on his back. “Who’s your friend?” He asked with interest, eyeing the boy.

The pair of them blinked, and Alkyone fur stood on end, as a black haired girl ran past them, smacking into Farai and making all three of them topple over. As well as her pup. Her lip curled, baring her teeth with a slight hiss, but quickly closing her mouth as she saw how Farai reacted. They knew the girl at least. But she wasn’t impressed by her child been thrown around. However Farai scooped the pup off of a dazed Iapto’s arms and started brushing her off.

Pipistella squirmed around in her arms, licking at Farai’s face before tilting her head over backwards to look at Rowan. “Who are yooou?” She asked.

Iapto picked herself up, dusting off the sand, glad that her bag had cushioned the most of the fall. “Rowan?” She asked, slightly surprised. “Wait...” she fell silent and scanned the coast, looking for a familiar face. She paled slightly as another thought struck her. She was yet to tell Dagda... She crouched down on the sand, busying herself by removing her knives from their sheaths and dropping them into her bag.

She could feel a pair of eyes burning into her, and a quick glance up confirmed Alkyone was eyeing her. She knew the large female didn’t like knives, which is the exact reason she put them in her bag. “Got any where that we can leave our stuff?” she asked. Alkyone’s response was a jerk of her head to the cliff. “Back in a bit.” Iapto said curtly, before legging it across the sand.

Alkyone watched the human female run towards their cave before turning to the blue Shinlai. “May we help you?” She asked politely, with a smile.

"I'm going for a walk, if I don't come back I probably got distracted by something shiney" with that, Rowan was off.

Echo jolt to a stand "W-Wait, Rowan!" he shout out at the girl, who obviously didn't hear him. He shot another glare back at the woman sitting with her cheese and bread. "Suppose that's my cue to get going then." He picked up Kiva and whistled at Ida who followed.



“Good morning.” The female replied, Deston smiled. "Is one of you the kind water shinlai who brought our boat ashore a tad faster than we hopped?" he questioned

“Who’s your friend?” The male asked

"This here i--"

"IAPTO!! FARAI!!!!" He was about to reply, when a young girl zoomed past him and tackled one of the humans "...I presume they know eachother?" he chuckled slightly at the sight. Uri tilt himself to get a look at the pup, so much so, that he eventually fell off Deston's back with a 'thud' straight in to the sand. "oww" he winced, Deston turned his head to inspect the situation "By Daila Uri, are you alright?" The boy nod and smiled awkwardly, then turned his attention back to the pup "Is that your pup?" he looked up at Dagda.

Rowan Laughed as she sat up, ruffling her hair to get rid of the sand. “Rowan?” Iapto asked, obviously surprised by her sudden appearance. Rowan arched an ebony brow as Iapto's face paled and she stashed her knives in her bag before asking one of the shinlai something and hurrying off. What's up with her "Oh! Hey Rowan... How are you?" Farai asked, "I'm good," she answered as the red head stood and picked up the lai pup, and started brushing sand off it's fur as it twisted akwardly in her arms.

“Who are yooou?” it asked. Rowan grinned, "I'm Rowan, I'm a friend of Iapto and Farai.... I didn't hurt you did I?" She asked, suddenly noticing the displeased way the purple Shinlai was standing, and realising she was probably the pups mother.

"W-Wait, Rowan!"

Great. Happy girl left so now she was sitting here with a scarf that had a guy somewhere behind it. Awkward. She was going to break the silence, but the other was faster.

"Suppose that's my cue to get going then."

Rowan stared at his back for a few seconds, mildly insulted as he seemed very eagerly not to sit and talk. But hey, the girl had ran of to people. Maybe something interesting would happen if she went over to. Which meant it was time to go on the 'annoying-girl-who-is-totally-stoopid-and-can't-stop-talking-tour'. Quickly, she packed her stuff and sprang to her feet to catch up to the guy. "So, you not from here then?"

Iapto made it to the cave without being followed, although she had spotted Dagda watching her scamper away. She trotted into the cave and stopped abruptly. The narrow entrance opened up into a large cavern. Which had blankets strewn across the floor. She grinned, knowing that Alkyone and Dagda had taken to using blankets after staying with the troupe a while back. She glanced around, noting Alkyone’s neck bag that she carried most places, and what looked like a harness so Dagda could haul the blankets around.

“Hmm, well it’s not quite home, but it’s not bad.” She mused, she took her bag off and propped it up against the wall of the cave. She wasn’t too please about the idea of leaving her knives here. But with Alkyone being more jumpy than normal, she didn’t want to risk annoying her.

She yawned and stretched, still dopy from being half asleep on Mel’s back. With a grumble she leant on the wall with one hand, with the other hand she tugged her trouser leg out of her right boot. A bandage was wrapped tightly around her calf concealing a nasty graze she had sustained. It wasn’t hurting any more, just irritating her, making her leg stiff and sore. With a huff she sat on the cave floor with a bump and set about tucking her trouser leg back into her boot.

The wall girl sprang from her seat and caught up to Echo rather quickly "So, you not from here then?" she questioned.

"Nope" Echo replied with a snap in the lip. Didn't take long for him to catch up with Rowan and--apparently a group of shinlai. One did stand out though, Dagda. He still recognized him from that day at the troupe. Echo scanned everyone, eventually stopping at Farai and Rowan, along with a small pup. "Farai?!" He said happily "What are you doing here? I haven't seen you or Iapto since the day at the pu--" He shut his word hole and looked around. Searching. "...guess not" he muttered to himself more than anything, before staring the present shinlai in turn once again.


"My, my, they keep coming don't they?" the large blue shinlai mused and looked down at Echo and the woman next to him. Uri in the meanwhile entertained himself poking at Pip's fur. He wanted to desperately get the pup's attention, yet she seemed rather distracted with Farai and Rowan.

Farai smiled at Pip's antics... Dang, the pup was adorable!

"Farai?!" came a happy call from a familiar face... Or at least, what face she could see... "What are you doing here? I haven't seen you or Iapto since the day at the pu--" before stopping and looking around, for someone... Oh...

"Iapto's here, Echo..." she said, "She had to go run and do something."

Mel looked around, she was always happy to be around shinlai, though at Alk's, “Only if I get to call you banshee.” she rolled her eyes.

"I take that as a no, then..." she looked at the newer human, "Uri, that's your name, eh?" she walked a little closer and nosed his shoulder. With a little wink to the boy, she looked at Farai and made a bit of a downward motion. Catching on, Farai carefully sat down and placed the pup on the sand beween her and the kid, turning her toward Uri.

“Iapto’s gone up to our cave to put her bag away.” Dagda said over his shoulder to the half concealed Echo. He smiled watching Farai put his pup on the sand and turn her to face the young boy.

Pipistella seemed reluctant to go on the sand, making ‘murup’ noises as Farai lowered and turned her to face the boy. She stared at him for a moment, before flopping onto one side, legs tucked up. She chirped contentedly, stretching in the sun.

“So it was you on the boat then?” Alkyone questioned the blue lai. “It was me you gave the boat a push at least, although you seemed to be coping well enough.” She said with a broad smile at him.

"My, my, they keep coming don't they?" The blue one stated.

“Yes... They do...” Alkyone mussed, watching the increasing amount of humans. She shifted around so she could see all the humans and was sure there were none behind her. She sat down and looked at the blue one. “So what’s your name?” She asked. While Dagda sniffed at the new humans with interest. “I’m Alkyone, that there is Dagda, Pipistella is the one currently trying to blend with the sand, and Mel is the pale blue one.” Alkyone listed, indicating each Lai. “And I’ve lost track of the humans.” She added.

Iapto managed to tuck her trouser leg back into her boot and stood up, testing her weight on her leg. She trotted off to the mouth off the cave, and stopped. Echo was on the beach being trailed by an unfamiliar girl and talking to Farai, who seemed distracted by the pup. She stepped back automatically, hiding in the cave shade. She still wasn’t sure about how she’d tell Dagda about Echo. She was half hoping he’d work it out by himself, without having it thrown in his face. She stood close to the cave wall, just watching the mixed group on the beach.

"Nope" And not much of a talker either, it would seem. Ruan let out an annoyed huff, blowing a strand of hair out of her face. Well, she wasn't going to let that discourage her. Those people (and Shinlai) looked kindof interesting and the day was already more exiting then for a long time. As they approached the group it struck her how large the shinlai actually were. She had forgotten all about that and had to admit it was fairly intimidating.

Happy girl was there too, already being all happy and comfortable. "Iapto's here, Echo..." Ruan smirked. So he did have a name. Better to keep silent now though. See how interesting this lot really was.
