Early morning, An Ancient forest

Rules:
-Open to all shinlai and human.
-Fighting allowed
-No death

Setting: And Ancient deciduous forest, mid spring. The trees a virbrant green with new buds, and the ground is carpeted in hundreds of flower of every hue. A long aboandoned apple orchard is intermixed with the other trees, and there is a ruin of an old stone farmstead. Small streams flow though out the forest, and one small river.

Large animals: Bears, wolves, deer

Small animals: Rabbits, foxes, weasels, beavers, otters, various woodland birds (and any other woodland creatures you can think of c;)

Mallantha kept as quiet as possible as she stalked a small herd of deer in the soft golden light of early morning. There were several does, a stag and two or three newborn fawns. The heard scattered as she lunged forward, intent on a doe with a pronounced limp. The chase was over quickly, and Thana sank her teeth into it's tender underside, supressing a grin as the deers warm blood flooded into her mouth and stained her her grey-blue jaws.

In between the trees and flowers that carpeted the forest ground, Linx rest peacefully. The sun that flowed through the leaves covering her coat in patches of light. She wasn't too far off when the sound of a kill flew through the air, and soon after, the scent of blood filled her nostrils. Ah, some company. Perhaps she'd be so lucky for it to be her beloved Lycuvayu.
With a cat like stretch, the female rose from her resting place. A light shake to the coat to dust off, before following the scent.
Didn't take all that long, she padded quietly through the woods until she spotted a dark blue shinlai in the bush. Dark shinlai, female, she could smell it. She approached with caution. newcomers, especially ones larger than her, needed to be treated with ultimate care.

Mallantha chewed on one of the does leg bones, cracking it open for the marrow. She could just imagine the look on her mothers face..... with a snarled of self contempt at the direction her thoughts were going, she spat out the bone, and stood.

She turned to walk to one of the small streams to wash the blood from her fur and halted, spotting an unfamiliar shinlai watching her. 'Balance, eh?' she noted to herself, seeing the symbol on the 'Lai's mask. She huffed, balance shinal were usualy more dangerous than normal, one element shinlai, seeing as you had two elements to deal with. SHe continued towards the stream, the shawos in the vicinity darkend, as she used them to moniter the other lai.

Let her make the first move...

Candy was down stream from Thana and the other lai... she could smell the blood and the shinlai themselves, and padded deeper into the forest. Her feet could feel a rare ore among the roots beneath her feet, and so, began to call out to it. Using her earth element, the lai could feel it pulling its way through the earth to reach the surface.

The lai's silver mask shuddered on her face, clicking against her horns as the silver ore surfaced. She grinned... with this much material around to form into javelin-like spines to fling at enemies, who needed friends?

she nearly growled at the thought of Rubisa. She tried not to be bitter, but it was hard when your best friend had a taste for adventure, and a love for pillaging the seas... and a love for a man back home, as far as Candy could tell. It was hard, always being the third wheel.

the cotton-candy-colored shinlai sighed, beginning to pack the silver away, slowly, carefully...though she did not fasten closed the burlap sacks in which she laid the raw metal.

Now, as quietly as possible, she began her retreat into the forest for cover, out of view, and into safer territory.

Linx watched, taking in all the details. So she was a shadow player, huh? Two could play at that game. Linx decided to keep herself from using any elements, for now at least.
Making her way towards the carcass, she took a nice long glance. "A skilled hunter." she commented, then cocked her head back at the female. Not exactly the best way to start a conversation. Questioning one's hunting skills, but hey, it was better than a tackle.

From the shadows of an overgrown apple tree, Rhan watched the two wolves spar, their grey fur rippling as they snapped and snarled. They were skilled fighters, well, as skilled as a wolf could be, still nothing compared to her own strength. With a loud 'huff' she stood up, her green eyes fixed intently on the two hunters, and began to approach them slowly. They ceased their play immediately, turning to face the great Shinlai with their hackles raised. Rhan laughed. "Fools", she let a deep growl emanate from her chest and smiled widely as the two wolves ran off with their tails between their legs. It was then that she saw, or thought she saw, movement and colour that did not quite fit with the trees of the forest. Yes, she was sure of it now, there were other shinlai about, she could scent them on the air. Arching her neck in a graceful stretch, she began in the direction of the others, casting her elements out to see if she could learn something about those she was approaching. There were two just ahead, and another some distance off. Those closer to her left large prints in the earth beneath them. They were larger than most of the other shinlai she had encountered, but still not as big as her. Or Brute, she smiled to herself.

Eldon is traveling wile watching the birds and deer go by. He digs his claws in the soil leaving claw prints in the dirt. He loves to feel the dirt between his toes as he walks. Eldon lift up his head and sniffs the air as the wind blew. AS he walks he starts to pause. He glaces near a bush that starts to move. He keeps his large eyes on that bush until a little rabbit jumps right out of it in a split second. Eldon take a deep breath and starts to chuckle. 'Its just a rabbit' He thought. So he uses his Earth element to catch the rabbit for a little snack. That rabbit had no chance, Eldon catches it by trapping it in a hole so only it's head will pop out. He comes up and grabs the rabbits head with his jaws, pull's it out and starts to eat it hole with one bite. That rabbit was tasty for him, he love eating them once in a wile.

As he walks a little more farther he starts to smell blood, deer blood. It really pirted his head up, then he licks his chops. So he heads that way to see who had it. He just hope there friendly.

Icarus prowled the forest, a low rumbling purr rose up from his chest. He was having a good day, the voices were pushed back to nothing more than a dull murmur. He had avoided using his element lately, he had left the borders of Darkblood territory, and he was attempting to be more active during the day. All of these things combined took a dead, heavy weight off of his shoulders- off of his mind.

His tattered ears pricked with interests at the sounds of the forest as he walked through it. He paid no mind to how much sound he made, or where he was really. He shook his coat, shaking fallen leaves from his fur. He frowned slightly at the weight of his horns dragging his head if he tried to knock off dirt and whatnot from his head. His horns were great, spectacular things that swept far over his back but they were really quite a pain.

He huffed indigniantly.

"A skilled hunter." Thana's lip twitched in a barely supressed smirk, and snorted "Not really, it was injured.... but an easy meal is better than none at all." She was about to ask the strangers name, when a distrubance in the shadows she controlled caused her fur to bristled slightly as another shinlai entered the vicinity, it raised further as she felt more approach. She sighed, realeasing her hold on the shadows before they tired her.
"It would seem this forest is the place to be this morning....." She muttered, as she reagarded the slightly smaller female, something about her nagging at her mind.

"My name is Mallantha Vauldae'ir.... May I ask your name and alleagance?" No point beating around the bush.

((Incoming.))

She could smell him. Where was he? Was that him? It was dark what ever it was. It was also purring. Horns! That was him! She crouched low and scuttled through the undergrowth using her dark coloured back to her advantage. He'd probably know she was there, she was light after all. But hey. Once she was close enough, she promptly sprung out of the shrub and landed quite literally on him.

"Icaar!" She exclaimed, wompfing onto his side and managing to get her front legs over his back. She did try to push him over, but she was rather short and lightweight. Eventually she gave up and just stood on her back legs, Icar's back propping her up. If he moved too much she was going to fall over.

"Pinned ya?" She asked, tail wagging slowly. It was the best she was going to get for now.

"Not really, it was injured.... but an easy meal is better than none at all." The female commented. True, a meal was a meal, independent on how it was obtained. If Linx still had her ears, they'd be twitching back towards the sounds that surrounded them. Finally, the stranger showed. "It would seem this forest is the place to be this morning....." she spoke, Linx giving her a good look over. "Seems so."
"My name is Mallantha Vauldae'ir.... May I ask your name and alleagance?" Well, at least she was concerned about allegiance. Linx took a few steps forward "Linx." first name. She really didn't use the second, nor ever spoke it. "Darkblood Elite."

"It would seem this forest is the place to be this morning....."

Rhan halted once she had emerged into the clearing. A mixture of sensations bombarded her senses, and she inhaled deeply, her eyes darting from the deer carcass, to the two females standing before her, and finally to their masks, upon which were the insignias of their elements. Balance and Dark. What is it with Shinlai and flaunting about their elements?
"Where one strays, many will gather. It is always the way, believe me. It makes it near impossible to get any privacy", she said with a small smile.

". . .Mallantha Vauldae'ir," stated the larger of the two. Rhan took a second to study her large, scarred form, running plans through her head that would allow her to dispatch the female quickly if she had to. It had become a rather morbid habit of hers.

"Linx. Darkblood Elite."

She snapped back to full awareness. That had caught her by surprise. Not wanting to miss her chance, she spoke up quickly, "Layrhan Varouk, Darkblood. Most know me simply as 'Rhan'", She dipped her head politely. If she had the chance to earn favour with an Elite, she would. As long as this one wasn't psychotic.

"Seems so."
"Where one strays, many will gather. It is always the way, believe me. It makes it near impossible to get any privacy"

"True," Mallantha replied, sizing up the larger female.
She turned back to the smaller, as she introduced herself. "Linx. Darkblood Elite."

Thana blined, somewhat caught by surprise, noting that the other female was also cought offguard, though not enough to forget to introduce herself.
"Layrhan Varouk, Darkblood. Most know me simply as 'Rhan'"

Thana's lips pulled into a half-smile, "It's a pleasure to meet fellow darkbloods." She repelied, And someone so highly ranked. she added to herself.

AS Eldon comes closer to the smell he starts to hear voices. A lot of feminine voices. "Ah females... I hope they are friendly. I don't really want to get in a fight with any of them..." He said.

AS he continues he starts to see the group. Many Shinlai around the deer. He looks at them all and dont recognize any of them besides Rhan. 'How come anytime I travel I run into her?' He wonders. 'Its vary strange indeed, she is vary pretty though'. He gives out a grin then Eldon starts to walk closer to them hoping none of them are going to attack him.

Laila crouched down nearby, listening in. Darkblood...? She'd never heard the term in all her communicating with Shinlai. She guessed that meant neither Selousi or Hallow were one, whatever 'it' was. She continued to listen in and kept a hand on her knife. She couldn't defend herself against these shinlai if she tried but it made her feel much less nervous for sure. She heaved a quiet sigh. She only wanted to hunt for food and find new maskmaking materials if possible. Now she was eavesdropping.
