"But still...." Jagter paused "Are you sure you'll just cope with the pain?" "I mean things like that usually only get worse." Jagter wondered if i was any of his concern to ask but by doing so would be prying and seeing the Lyndercote was easily offend he decide not to ask about the other shinlai yet or why did it attack him

Maha stood watching the two males chat between them selves. She didn't really speak, but she listened to every word. She turned and walked over to the tree that had the arrow in it. She pulled it loose to see if any of it could be spared. she smiled holding it towards the light. it was only bent slightly, so all she needed to do was to bend it back. then she re-quilled it

Lynn thought a moment and glanced at his leg. "it's been about the same for a long time, no better, no worse. it aches in wet weather and if I run on it i tend to pull it and then it hurts for a few days but other then that it doesn't bother me too often."

he watched Maha retrieve her arrow and mend it. "hm.."

"I prefer metal arrow shafts than wooden ones they break less often." Jagter pointed to Maha's bow "Hey since your such a great shot how about you come help me go hunting eh ?" Jagter turned toward the shinlai "And you, Lyndercote, you'll be our hound you can help us track our quarry." he grinned
"Just know it likely be days very long and exhausting hunt but when you get quarry it will be all worth it."

Maha Tilted her head at the offer. "Hunt?" She paused for a minute. "I think You have me all wrong. My apologies." She smiled. "I don't hunt." Maha felt kinda bad for turning down such a offer. But It was just against her to kill creatures. She smiled at Lyn slightly. "I do agree about the arrows though." She commented.

Selousi was out gathering fungus at the time, this forest was the best she'd known to find large mushrooms to cultivate in her garden. She spotted a few on the bark of a dead, fallen tree and pranced over to collect them. They were a reddish tint with a golden cap. They smelled somewhat like maple. Sweet and rich. She dug her nails into the tree and scraped off a large strip of bark in a single stroke. She placed the mushroom strip in a small, grass woven bag. The air was rich here most of the time but now there was somewhat of a smokey scent surrounding the area. Hopefully a human wasn't burning something. This forest was old and would take a massive amount of time to grow back.

Then it hit her, a pang of thirst. She hadn't drunk all morning! She raised her head and listened, there was a running source of water nearby. But where there's also water, there's mud. Her favorite. She practically bounded over to the water, sliding through the soft, wet ground. But she hadn't realized the company nearby.

Upon hearing heavy foot steps Jagter raised his crossbow and turned to see another shinlai "Another shinlai?"

Lynn quirked a brow beneath his mask. mildly insulted he shook his head, deciding it best not to address such things, he determined this human to be simply misunderstanding.
"I agree Maha, and I don't think the role of 'hound' suits me very well..." he grumbled somewhat irritably when the scent of fresh mushrooms caught his senses, he turned his head and listened, footsteps and the smell of herbs as well. he identified the shinlai as one he had seen at a gathering he stumbled into earlier that day.

suddenly the human drew his bow and Lynn hauled himself up with a strained groan, and with a heavy back leg he stomped the ground. he gave the human a firm glare to away his weapon before turning to the river where the other shinlai was drinking.

pretending as though he knew the shinlai somewhat to ease the human's reactions he called out to her "how's the herb hunting?" he said aloud, he hoped she wouldn't think of him as rude, but he had heard her mention something about herbs and judging by the scents from her basket he guessed she liked them, and guessed that she was gathering the fragrant fungi for something.

he then realized he never got her name and felt somewhat stupid.

Selousi squealed a bit when she hear Lynn, nf now she was covered in mud! How embarrassing! She turned slowly toward Lynn and paused for a moment as her heart nearly skipped a beat when she saw the human with the bow. Was he trying to attack? Maybe he was with the group of shinlai that Ahaloh was talking about. What was it again? The dark bubbles? No it was the darkbloods! Why would such a sinister group have such a silly name! She decided to reply, " Oh hi, um, yeah I was just out gathering mushrooms. Weren't you at Nirasi's party? I never caught your name. Either way, er, I'm Selousi."


She had her claws out, she was extremely stressed out, since well, a human was pointing a sharp arrow at her! She fidgeted a bit and looked around awkwardly.

"Ah sorry you startled me, forgive me I thought you where a bear." Jagter lowered crossbow "So Lyndercote you know this shinlai?" he said with concern
Jagter inched toward Lyndercote moving farther from the other shinlai "I should be able to run to Lyn for protection." Feeling safer Jagter greeted the shinlai
"Hey im Jagter hunter by trade." he said

Maha had her hand against her pouch on her side as she heard approaching footsteps. She watched Jagter's movements and followed his glare. She then became upset, at what she saw. Maha had taken several steps towards the human before he lowered his weapon. Her glare burned through his back head as she tried to calm herself. She hated violence. But she soon realized he was just using his instincts as a hunter. and she tried to smile at Lyn, but her expression was still hard. Maha turned and gave the female Shinlai apologetic look. "Please, its ok. Excuse him for he is just using his instincts, and I'm sure he means no harm." She then gave Jagter a stern look as she then smiled at Selousi.

Lynn rolled his eyes at the human, when he came closer Lynn shook his head. he took a few steps away from Jagter and towards Selousi "ah, yes, though I wasn't invited, I happened on the party by accident, I have to say I felt bad the host was so stressed...anyway, my name is Lynndercote, but it's just as well to call me Lynn. I'm sorry this young man frightened you, he seems a tad jumpy. but I assure no one here will harm you." he said as softly as his horse voice allows hoping to ease the obvious tension, the poor dear had her claws out and her fur w as so bristled she looked twice her expected size.


Lynn smiled awkwardly trying to lighten the mood as he could tell Maha was a bit tense as well. he was slightly irritated with the weird little man but he was also amused.

what a day this had been, and surely it was only to get more interesting.

Seeing how both Lynn and Maha where both unpleased with Jagter reiterated "I'm sorry you startled me;I thought where a bear." Jagter put down his crossbow
"See I mean no harm." he said waving both arms "See here I was on edge because I saw bear tracks in the woods recently." hoping that the shinlai would know him pointing a crossbow at her was just an accident "You gave me quite a scary there" he said with a small smirk hoping to show he was friendly

Maha walked over to Jagter. She looked at him and gave him a reassuring look. "I'm sure its ok. Just try to be more careful about waving weapons around. "

Selousi looked at Maha Ra. She looked terrifying! Like a predator about to pounce. Jagger however, having lowered his weapons looked much friendlier. Maha, however, still had her weapon. She switched her gaze back to Lynndercote. He must have been the reason for the smoke earlier. Which meant he was a fire shinlai. She also didn't try to look but her eyes, out of natural curiosity would tend to dart down at his scarred leg. She had wondered what had happened, but she probably missed the story anyways. She opened her mouth to speak but then the male darted waving his arms around. She was awfully confused.
"I'm sorry; you startled me," he said " I thought you were a bear."
Honestly she hoped he was done talking. She was wrong.
"See? I mean no harm." he still persisted, "See, here I was on edge because I saw bear tracks in the woods recently. You gave me quite a scare there." he said, finishing. He gave an awkward smile. His brows were still slightly furrowed, he had tense nerves. She could tell he was faking the smile. It was exceedingly silly but she wasn't exactly the type to openly judge someone's character.
Then the girl began to talk. Great.
"I'm sure it's okay; just try to be more careful about waving weapons around." Maha said, in a reply to Jagter's speech. He ought to have a podium to stand at when he pauses that much. Then again, she wasn't really better off. Maybe with Ahaloh's help she would. She decided to forget about that. She finally had time to talk to Lynn. Hopefully there wouldn't be any more interruptions.
"Well it's nice to meet you, Lynn. She said. So you're a leg shinla-" she shut her mouth immediately. Oops. She felt extremely embarrassed now. What if she brought something bad up?

(Oh my god, I'm on my iPod and I can't even edit that dfhjdbdjd. That's why I usually make short posts on this LOL)

Lynn laughed somewhat at his human friends and shook his head. he could tell Selousi was as a bit irked and he caught her eye on Maha's bow. he took a few more steps between them, knowing full well that Maha was not a hunter but selousi did not.

"So you're a leg shinla-"

Lynn tilted his head then looked back at his braced leg and made and 'oh' face "ha ha, oh that, it's an old wound, I was just telling these two about it, I fell of a plateau many years ago, I still have a bad leg and a cough, despite all the best healing efforts." he said simply, he honestly didn't mind telling the curious about his accident, it's not like he could hide the brace after-all. and the last thing he wanted was for someone to feel they needed to tip toe around him in a conversation.

She listened to what he had to say. Although other than the leg he was still a bit rugged. But he had obviously been coping with it for a while. He wasn't out for pity or anything. "Eheh.... Well, what I meant to say is that you have to be a fire shinlai, I smelled some smoke earlier so I was a little bit concerned!" she paused and looked around, thinking about Ahaloh. "Erm....Do you like fungi?" she said making a weird smile.

Maha, after seeing everyone calming down, finally strapped her bow on her back. She smiled at Lyn, and then gave the same smile to the other Shinlai. "What types of fungus do you have?" She asked Selousi, tilting head slightly, studying her.

Selousi glanced at Maha, " Actually, I really don't know! But they smell like maple to me, it's a really lovely fragrance!" she said, pulling out a few. To a human, they'd definitely smell awful. But to a shinlai, they indeed had a scent that was much like rich maple syrup or honey.

Ahaloh had followed Selo from the party, but made sure to not be any hinderance or annoyance to the pretty lai.

Selousi jumped a but when she finally saw Ahaloh, she had just looked over her shoulder a bit ago and he wasn't there. Then like magic, he was!
"Oh gosh, Ahaloh, I guess you were pretty far behind me. You surprised me!" she said laughing a little.
She glanced at Lynndercote and back at Ahaloh. "Have you ever met Lynndercote?" she asked, " He was at the party."

( Also, I don't really like the idea of turns asdf... I mean, Selo is just impatient :'D I just wanted to include it in my post)

Ahaloh chucked gently. "I am sorry I didn't mean to sneak up on you, just the commotion of the party was making my head spin a bit and I thought I would take you up on your offer of peace and quiet." He walked forward towards her and sat himself by her side looking over Lynn. "No I don't believe we have met, I'm Ahaloh it is nice to meet your acquaintance."
